My work explores identity, transformation, memory, and the emotional landscapes that shape who we are. Drawing from my journey as a Cuban immigrant, my background in architecture, and my fascination with the relationship between humanity and nature, I create figurative surrealist compositions that invite viewers to look beyond the visible and connect with deeper emotional experiences.
Each piece is built through layers of acrylic, oil, ink, and mixed media, combining expressive line work, texture, and symbolism. Many of my paintings incorporate UV-reactive pigments, revealing hidden elements when exposed to ultraviolet light and offering an entirely new visual experience. Their compositions are often designed to be viewed from different orientations, allowing the narrative to evolve as the perspective changes.
Rather than providing definitive answers, my work encourages reflection. Faces, animals, flowers, and organic forms become metaphors for resilience, vulnerability, freedom, and personal transformation. I want every painting to create a dialogue with the viewer—one that continues long after the first encounter—and remind us that every individual carries multiple stories, perspectives, and unseen layers within.
